ironman qualifier denotes a performance that qualifies that athlete for the Ironman World Championships in Hawaii or the Ironman 70.3 World Championships in Clearwater, FL.


July 22nd: Vineman Half
On Sunday, more than 2000 triathletes braved the heat at the popular Vineman Ironman 70.3, in Sonoma County. Of the 1823 who finished, there were a number of Mad Cows, including three who gained both podium spots and qualifying entries to the Ironman World Championship at Kona and the Ironman 70.3 World Championship in Clearwater.

July 21st: Eppie's Great Race
A handful of Mad Cows attacked a very large field at Eppie's Great Race, a unique multisport event consisting of a 5.82 mile run, followed by a 12.5 mile bike and a 6.35 mile kayak. Athletes compete individually or in teams.

July 7th: June Lake Sprint Triathlon

July 6st: Lake Stevens Ironman 70.3
Our very own Paige Stewart did a great job at the Ironman 70,3 (i.e. Half IM) in Lake Stevens, WA, coming in 4th in her AG at 5:28:59, and qualifying for the world championship in Clearwater, FL. Full information is found at http://www.lakestevens703.com. Congratulations Paige!

July 4th: Marshmellow Triathlon (200 yard swim, 2 mile bike, 1 mile run)
Fun was had by all at the Fourth of July Marshmallow Triathlon at the Davis Swim and Fitness Health Club in south Davis. The distances were: 200 yard swim, 2 mi. bike, and 1 mi. run---a true test of speed! The very unique marshmallow trophy finishers received was a special treat.

July 1st: Ironman Germany
Across the globe, Max Biessman (who multitasks as both MadCow and UCDTri-Aggie) pulled in impressive results at Ironman Germany, finishing this tough course in 10:04:28, putting him at 11 in his AG and 385 overall, in a very competitive field. June 3rd: Escape from Alcatraz
Paul Moylan competed in the Accenture Escape from Alcatraz, a very challenging course consisting of a 1.5mi swim through the cold bay waters, followed by a 1 mi run to T1, an 18 mi bike and an 8mi run.

May 27th: Ironman Brazil
The results are in from Florianopolis (Brazil), and our very own Cary Craig pulled in with a great overall time of 11:29:56, putting her at 501 overall and 5th in her age group.

May 20th: Auburn International and World's Toughest Half Iron
Several of the Herd braved the winds and hills to take part in the Auburn Triathlons yesterday. There were both International (Olympic) and Half Iron races, the latter of which is billed as "the world's toughest". May 12th: City of Gold Triathlon
Two Mad Cows raced in the 5th City of Gold Triathlon in Oroville today, gaining poduim spots both overall and in their respective age groups. The format was 1/2 mi swim, 12,1mi bike and 5k run: splits were not given.

May 5-6th: Wildflower Triathlon
May began with a strong showing by the Herd at the Wildflower triathlons, with one of our team participating in the Olympic distance competition, and one in the half iron distance event. Nearly 2600 althetes took part in the former and over 1900 in the latter.

April 15th: UC Davis Sprint Triathlon
Many of the Herd kicked off the 2007 season at the annual UCDTri Race (750 yd pool S - 18 mi B - 4 mi R). The race drew over 200 participants, including nearly 100 collegiate athletes. March 31st: Cal Poly Collegiate Triathlon

March 4th: Stanford Treeathlon
