Davis Special Olympics
Team Davis is a year-round recreational and competitive sports program for individuals with developmental disabilities. Currently serving approximately 90 athletes from Davis, Woodland and Winters, our athletes participate in swimming, running, triathlon, softball, golf, soccer, snowshoeing, in-line skating and bowling. Athletes compete at both the local and regional level and several have represented the team for the last two years at Summer Games, a competition with over 1,000 athletes from all over Northern California. We also have a presence at local running events and the occasional triathlon.
Each sport runs for several months, culminating in a competition, with the exception of running, which we continue year-round. Each sport also requires a strong group of volunteers, for which we are constantly recruiting!
